Highlight: Summer time, fun time. School is out and all the kids get to sleep in, play games, and relax. There are plenty of summer programs to join, but here’s why the Anson L Clark Scholars Program at Texas Tech University is the summer program everyone is raving about. Not only is it free to attend, but you get a $500 meal card for the 7 weeks that you’ll be staying there and a $750 stipend at the end of this summer program. Let’s just say, it’s definitely an opportunity that can make your resume stand out from the crowd, in addition to giving you a little taste of life on a college campus. Field trips, weekly seminars, and fun activities are held throughout the duration of this summer program to keep it lively but, let’s be honest it’s a pretty competitive summer program as only 12 students are accepted annually. The application process is fairly straightforward; all that’s really required are recommendations and transcripts —simple am I right? The number of research areas are extensive and range from mathematics to fine art. But, there is no real specific information given about past projects or research opportunities… so you may want to contact clark.scholars@ttu.edu to learn more about research options and details. This is a summer program for motivated and high performance students, so don’t wait till May to apply. The deadlines are late February, so don’t hesitate to apply now and give yourself a glimpse of what you are capable of.
